Life at Assam Industrial Training Institute is not just about books, workshops, and hard work; it is also about making lifelong memories with friends and teachers. On November 28, our institute organized a much-awaited annual picnic to Ukiam, a hidden paradise located on the Assam-Meghalaya border.

The Journey to the Border
The excitement began early in the morning as we all gathered at the institute. We started our journey toward Chhaygaon, and as we moved further, the city noise was replaced by the sight of green hills and fresh air. The two-hour drive was filled with music, laughter, and snacks, setting the perfect mood for the day.

The Beauty of Ukiam
Upon reaching Ukiam, we were mesmerized by the view. The Kulsi River flows gracefully through the rocky terrain, surrounded by the majestic Garo Hills. The water was crystal clear, reflecting the bright blue sky. It was the perfect escape into nature.

Fun, Food, and Fellowship
A picnic is never complete without a grand feast! Our team worked together to set up the spot. While some students helped with the cooking, others enjoyed:
- Boating: Many of us took a boat ride on the Kolohi River to see the nearby waterfalls.
- Exploring: We walked across the iconic hanging bridge and explored the riverbanks.
- Games: We played various outdoor games, took countless selfies, and danced to our favorite Assamese songs.
The highlight was the delicious lunch served on traditional Shal leaves, which made the food taste even better in the middle of the forest.

Strengthening Our Bonds
Beyond the fun, this trip was a great way for us to bond. Away from the classroom, we got to know our instructors and classmates better. We returned home in the evening with tired feet but very happy hearts.
We are already looking forward to our next adventure together.
